Located about 30 minutes NW of Mérida is the town of Dzitya, which is renown for artisans who work in wood and stone. Here are some photographs from one of the best workshops – accordingly so since they sell their work to the Casa de la Cultura in Mérida and have had several university groups come and work with them.
